After 50 years of living in Manhattan, I moved to Hudson full time in 2013. As a result of a fortuitous turn of events, I was able to set up house at a property I had my eye on while staying with long time resident friends during Hurricane Sandy.

Additionally, each all of my belongings seemed to be retro-fit to the dimensions of the space, including two bookshelves that fit within an inch of the ceiling in my Hudson home. The first design step, was painting the dining room in a deep tone, and leaving the rest of the space white, ideal as a backdrop to hang art.

The layout design of my small backyard garden incorporated a mixture of cultivated grape and trumpet vines as well as indigenous plants. A repurposed photo mural installation provides a theatrical backdrop to set the tone of the garden.
